Caitlin Gerdts, MHS

Caitlin Gerdts is a doctoral student in the UC Berkeley department of Epidemiology. After spending three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador working in family planning and intimate partner violence, Caitlin went on to earn her MHS in population, family and reproductive health from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. As a program officer at the Pacific Institute for Women’s Health, Caitlin directed the Institutes’ reproductive rights advocacy efforts in Latin America and California. Later as a research analyst for the Women’s Global Health Imperative, Caitlin worked on large scale clinical trials in gender and reproductive health in Southern Africa. As a doctoral student she hopes to pursue her interest in social and behavioral determinants of health—specifically gender and reproductive health. She is currently working with Dr. Prata and her team at the Bixby Center.
