Film about Fighting Child Marriage in Ethiopia: DIFRET

March 10, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Difret (Courage) is a new feature film by two Ethiopian filmmakers that chronicles the extraordinary story of a 14-year-old Ethiopian girl who was abducted for marriage, and the lawyer who fights for her rights. The story that unfolds, based on actual events, is a powerful tale of the clash between traditional practices and modern notions of human rights.
