Wednesdays 6-8 pm

Location 200 Wheeler
Department: Public Health
Course Number: 98/198
CCN #: 75563/75929

The United Nations established the eight millennium goals in 2000 to help alleviate poverty throughout the world. Can these goals be met? What is the missing link? Be apart of a class that will explore how to eradicate poverty, hunger, and infant/child/maternal mortality knowing that population growth WILL effect the outcome.

The Population and MDGs DeCal will feature guest speakers whose work focuses on a particular MDG each week. We will learn about these various interdisciplinary perspectives and discuss how the population growth factor underlies each one.

This DeCal will be supervised by Professor Malcolm Potts and the School of Public Health
