Emily is a junior undergraduate at UC Berkeley majoring in French with a minor in Jewish Studies. She transferred to Cal in the fall of 2016, after receiving her A.A. degree at Skyline College in Social and Behavioral Sciences. She began working and volunteering at the Bixby Center in September of 2016 at the Women’s Health, Gender, and Empowerment Center of Expertise. She also volunteers at the Bixby Center’s OASIS Center and works under Professor Malcolm Potts, MB, BChir, PhD, FRCOG. In terms of campus life, Emily currently serves as a member of the marketing committee for the student run organization, Global Internships at Berkeley. She also works as a research apprentice under Professor Michel Laguerre, PhD, at the Berkeley Center for Globalization and Information Technology. For fun, Emily participates in ballet classes offered by Pointe of Berkeley, ballet club on campus during the weekend. In the future, Emily hopes to harness her French skills by working in West Africa in Public Health.
