Lena is a junior at UC Berkeley majoring in Social Welfare with an intended double major in Public Health, and a minor in Global Poverty and Practice. She has been working for the Bixby Center as a Student Assistant since August 2016 and works alongside other researchers and faculty members by performing administrative tasks that contribute towards their research projects. She has multiple experiences in public health, focusing closely on mental health in various communities. She worked as an intern for the ongoing mental health initiative in London, Mind in Camden and has also worked with Alta Bates Summit Medical Center alongside a licensed social worker to alleviate inequality in healthcare access due to cultural and language barriers. Her interests include community health and health policy, and she hopes to pursue a dual MSW-MPH degree.
