Chancellor Robert Birgeneau said awardees ” accomplishments show the university’s commitment to excellence via hard work, perseverance, and dedication to service.”

Ms. Norris has been the administrator for the Global Health Office and the Bixby Center for at the School of Public Health for 15 years.  In her time at Berkeley Claire has mentored hundreds of students and helped to build the next generation of global health leaders.

Ms. Norris also gracefully kept countless projects on track, budgets in line and meetings organized.  Claire is the welcoming heart of the global health office and students quickly learn that Claire will advise and support them.  In fact Claire’s office is often full of current and former students there to ask questions, get advice or just enjoy her welcoming company.

Last year Claire took on the enormous task of organizing the Bixby Forum coordinating 40 leaders of public health from all over the world.  She managed every detail of the event and was instrumental in getting the proceedings of the Forum published. On top of her official work Claire serves on the SPH Staff Advisory Committee as well as the School’s Wellness coordinator.

Congratulations Claire!
