Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings: Current Status and Future Considerations
December 5, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
On behalf of the Inter-Agency Working Group (IAWG) on Reproductive Health in Crises, Save the Children, the UC Berkeley Bixby Center for Population, Health and Sustainability and the UC Berkeley Human Rights Center, we are pleased to invite you to Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings: Current Status and Future Considerations on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 10am – 6pm at the International House at UC Berkeley, CA.
Formerly the Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Refugee Situations, the IAWG was formed in 1995 to promote access to quality reproductive health care for refugee women and others affected by armed conflict and natural disaster. Today, the IAWG has grown to a broad-based, highly collaborative coalition of over 1,700 individual members from 450 agencies, led by an 18-member Steering Committee—representing UN, government, non-governmental, academic, and donor organizations.
Please join us at this exciting launch event for the Bay Area Inter-Agency Working Group (IAWG) on Reproductive Health, to learn more about the IAWG, identify priorities for the Bay Area group, identify similarities between different fields of work, build an open space for creative solutions, and network with local reproductive health, human rights, humanitarian, and health technology colleagues. Presentations will be held on the findings of the 2012-2014 IAWG Global Evaluation, the current status of reproductive health in Central/West Africa and the Middle East including in the Ebola response, and the intersection of technology and reproductive health in crises.
To RSVP, please complete the accompanying registration form and return to Sarah Knaster, IAWG Coordinator, at SarahK@wrcommission.orgby the November 18, 2014 deadline.
