This past summer, Mollie worked in collaboration with the OASIS Initiative to conduct a situational analysis of the state of family planning training in Niger. Through interviews with key actors with decades of experience in family planning training institutions in Niger, she gathered information to identify strategic opportunities and inform OASIS’s engagement with this sector. The messages from key informants in the public and private sectors in Niger — including the University of Niger, public health training schools, and the Ministry of Public Health — all speak to the need for and potential impact of a center for excellence to support the family planning training infrastructure in the realms of expertise and advanced practice.
