Stephanie Boarden, MPH Candidate
Ms. Boarden went to Nigeria to work on research assessing the effectiveness of using misoprostol to treat postpartum hemorrhage among women in rural settings. The intervention was community based and the treatment regime was incorporated into the current services provided by traditional birth attendants (TBAs). She also conducted focus groups and interviews with TBAs and study participants to get a better understanding of the community’s response to the use of misoprostol by TBAs as well as information on barriers to treatment and/or access.
