Her dissertation work explored the potential for community health workers to use mobile technology to help increase access to family planning information and services. Rebecca has served as a consultant on various mHealth projects, working to share accurate information on family planning methods and locate nearby clinical services via SMS (FHI360 & CFHC), to increase access to misoprostol for post-partum hemorrhage and safe abortion services (VSHD & PHI) and to review mHealth technology use by community health workers in developing countries (InSTEDD). She has conducted fieldwork and research focused on family planning, safe abortion, maternal health, STDs/HIV and cervical cancer in Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador, Tanzania and Kenya.
