Rebecca Braun, MPH

Rebecca is a former Doctoral Fellow, supported by the Bixby Center when she was a DrPH student at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Her dissertation work explored the potential for community health workers to use mobile technology to help increase access to family planning information and services. Rebecca has served as a consultant on various mHealth projects, working to share accurate information on family planning methods and locate nearby clinical services via SMS (FHI360 & CFHC), to increase access to misoprostol for post-partum hemorrhage and safe abortion services (VSHD & PHI) and to review mHealth technology use by community health workers in developing countries (InSTEDD). She has conducted fieldwork and research focused on family planning, safe abortion, maternal health, STDs/HIV and cervical cancer in Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador, Tanzania and Kenya.
