The UC Berkeley Center for Global Public Health and UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism are excited to offer a joint internship for a summer global health reporting project in 2018. A $4,000 stipend will be awarded to a UC Berkeley graduate student to cover expenses involved in producing a work of journalism that investigates an issue related to health disparities and/or health equity in a low-to-middle income country. The deliverable at the end of the summer is to be a work of journalism in medium(s) of the student’s choice: text-based (online, newspaper, magazine), radio, video, a series of blogs, or a photo-essay.
Eligibility: This opportunity is open to graduate students in journalism or public health currently attending UC Berkeley. Public health students who apply should have some background in journalism or media production. The student will need to have a designated UC Berkeley faculty member who will supervise their work. If that faculty advisor is not in journalism, then a journalism faculty co-advisor will also be designated.
Please see below for more details on how to apply.
Deadline: Friday, January 26th, 2018.
