From 2008-2015, VSI was a nonprofit private foundation dedicated to increasing access to essential medicines and services for women and girls in developing countries. After years of successful programs that elevated the importance of medicines such as misoprostol and mifepristone, VSI closed its operations in March 2015. Although the organization itself closed, the important work of increasing access to life-saving medicines in developing countries will continue through our partner, the Bixby Center for Population, Health and Sustainability at the University of California, Berkeley.
Since VSI’s body of work was quite large, this archive is limited to sample programmatic and organizational materials. Please refer to the categories below to search through VSI’s library of resources.
For more information on VSI and its history, including access to additional resources not held in this library, please send an email to bixbycenter@berkeley.edu and refer to VSI in the subject line.
